Chronic Wounds

Chronic Wounds

Chronic wounds are sores or ulcers that do not heal within the expected time frame or follow the typical wound healing process. Individuals with pre-existing diabetes, poor circulation, malnutrition, weakened immune systems or infections may be at higher risk for chronic, non-healing wounds. Although often overlooked, nutrition is a key factor in healing chronic wounds, which can lead to severe complications if not appropriately treated and managed.
