Glutaric Acidemia Type 1

Glutaric Acidemia Type 1

Glutaric Acidemia Type 1 (GA-1) is a rare, lifelong genetic disorder that affects the breakdown of three amino acids lysine, hydroxylysine and tryptophan. It is considered a treatable condition, but without intervention, people with GA-1 accumulate harmful substances in their bodies that can cause serious complications.
