Medicare Open Enrollment Is Here! Make Sure Your Home Infusion Therapy Stays Covered
Medicare Open Enrollment takes place from October 15 to December 7. This is your chance to review your coverage and make sure it supports your care needs for the year ahead. Since plan benefits can change each year, it’s important to confirm that your plan still covers essential treatments like home infusion therapy. Taking action now can help you avoid unexpected costs and keep your care on track.
Before you make any changes, review the scenarios below that apply to you and take the recommended steps to ensure you have coverage for home infusion therapy.
If You’re Already Covered Under Medicare Advantage
If you already have a Medicare Advantage plan, take time to review your plan’s benefits for next year. Coverage for home infusion therapy can change, and reviewing your plan early helps ensure your care continues without interruption.
Contact your plan or care team to confirm that home infusion therapy remains included in your benefits.
If You Have Traditional Medicare Only
If you have Traditional Medicare only, home infusion therapy may not be fully covered, and you could be charged a $40 non-covered service fee per visit.
Consider adding or switching to a Medicare Advantage plan that includes home infusion coverage to help avoid extra costs and keep your care consistent.
If You Have Traditional Medicare and Supplemental Coverage
If you have Traditional Medicare with Supplemental coverage, home infusion therapy may still not be fully covered.
Review your options and look for a Medicare Advantage plan that includes home infusion benefits to prevent coverage gaps or delays in treatment.
