Pentec Health Announces Expansion of Aetna Coverage to their Coventry Medicare Plan

Expanding services to include 3.2 million lives within the Coventry Plan

Philadelphia, PA, June 18, 2019 — Pentec Health, Inc., a leader in patient-specific sterile compounding, today announced that Aetna, one of the country's leading health plans, will expand coverage for their Renal Nutrition Services and their Intrathecal (IT) pump management program under its Coventry Medicare plan, reaching 5.3 million lives across the country. This new agreement also provides access to Pentec Health services for lives in over 10 new Aetna umbrella plans that were not part of their previous agreement. The new agreement will go into effect on July 1, 2019.

For renal dialysis patients, Pentec Health provides the nutritional support through Intradialytic Parenteral Nutrition (IDPN) and Intraperitoneal nutrition (IPN) when they are unable to meet protein and energy requirements with food and supplements alone. Patients with intrathecal pump therapy require individual attention and consistent observation to monitor for side effects of their medication. Pentec Health’s DrugPlus® programs allow patients to be seen in their preferred environment to manage their pain or spasticity, enabling treatment to be more efficient and worry-free.
